Precision mold plays an important role in various fields, but there are still many problems and challenges in the application process. Some specific problems and challenges will be analyzed and discussed in this paper.
First of all, in line with the development trend of industry 4.0, intelligent manufacturing has become the mainstream trend of today's manufacturing industry, but the degree of automation of precision molds is relatively low. In practical applications, most of the precision molds have adopted CAD/CAM/CAE and other systems in order to facilitate development, design and analysis, improve production efficiency, and improve the accuracy and quality of the molds. However, although these systems have been widely used in CNC machine tools and other manufacturing equipment, the measures for the independent manufacturing of precision molds are still insufficient. At present, the number of machine tool automatic production lines such as double machining centers is still small, how to improve the production efficiency and quality, while constantly optimizing the control system, is an important problem in precision mold manufacturing.
Secondly, the need for product diversification is becoming more and more intense, in order to avoid frequent mold changes, product design tends to be simplified and standardized, making the design and manufacturing of molds easier. However, the manufacturing of precision molds often has high complexity and diversity. At the same time, mold manufacturing is generally time-consuming, the cost of investment, manufacturing and maintenance is relatively high, and service and support capabilities also need to be improved. Therefore, how to quickly and effectively achieve mold design and production while ensuring mold quality is a major challenge for manufacturing and precision mold manufacturing enterprises.
In addition, the correctness of material and process selection is also one of the important factors restricting the development of precision molds. Traditional precision mold manufacturing materials are mainly steel, but at present, there are some new composite materials and non-metallic materials, such as ceramics, polymer materials and so on. With the continuous development of science and technology, the emergence of new materials provides a new way for manufacturing high-performance precision molds. In the process of precision mold manufacturing, the control and optimization of process parameters are also very important. The unreasonable process plan often leads to problems in the quality and performance of the mold. How to choose the appropriate materials, processing technology and equipment to meet the production requirements is one of the important links in the process of manufacturing precision molds.
In the back, we are also faced with environmental protection and energy conservation issues, which is also a challenge facing precision mold manufacturing. There are many waste and environmental pollution problems in the traditional precision mold processing process, which will not only threaten the production environment, but also have a negative impact on people's health. How to develop and apply environmentally friendly materials, effectively control production process emissions, and improve energy saving and economy will be a new direction in the future development of precision mold industry.
In summary, precision mold in the face of many problems and challenges, but also has a huge development space and development potential.
